Julia Swann

Studio 11

It was something about living close to the sea and the lovely bits of pottery, glass and stone I would find on the beach that drew me to become a mosaic artist. I take great pleasure in fitting the pieces into a pattern of their own, following where they lead.

As I sit with these pieces, once serving bowls, plates or tea cups, I imagine the conversations over meals and those who gathered at the table.
