Rodolfo Blanco

Studio 8

Rodolfo “Odder” Blanco, is currently known as The Starving Artist. Born in Torreon Coahuila Mexico in 1980 he found inspiration in drawing particularly television cartoons at an early age, interested in imitating the vibrant colors television produced.

Upon arrival to the US, he focused on the elaboration of abstract and minimal paintings, as a result of the poor joy found in the drawing or painting of ordinary everyday objects or nature. His next artistic exploration was in the photography of abandoned found objects, like old couches left out on the street and garbage. Odder sought to bring back to life these items, finding them a new view perspective and a broader appreciation of color and concept.

This form of art eventually led to capturing the essence through the animated format of video. These art videos, conceptual in nature, became the basis of Rodolfo’s current works. Now residing in Puerto Vallarta, Odder has found new ways of expressing his creativity thru the creation of large scale murals and interior designing adding a new experience thru his artistic career.

Odder’s paintings, photography and video now represent abstract and minimal art form learned in the inspiration conceived in the works of Andy Warhol, Picasso, Keith Hearing and Basquiat. "Si la vida te da limones, haz carne asada"
